About Cooper Hill Cheese Rolling
Competitors chase a 3.6 kg wheel of Double Gloucester cheese down a steep hill. The cheese reaches speeds of 110 km/h. The first person to cross the finish line wins the cheese. Injuries are common, including concussions and broken bones. Started at least 200 years ago, possibly as a fertility ritual.
