About Timkat
The Ethiopian Orthodox celebration of Epiphany. Tablets called tabots, replicas of the Ark, process from churches under velvet canopies. At dawn water is blessed and sprayed on the crowds in renewal of baptism. UNESCO listed the festival in 2019.
