About Sumpango Giant Kite Festival
Giant kites up to 20 meters are flown beside the cemetery. Messages to ancestors are woven into the designs in paper and bamboo. Teams build them for months. The tradition was inscribed by UNESCO in 2022. Roots blend Maya belief with All Saints Day.
