Also called Lunar New Year or Spring Festival. The largest annual human migration occurs as people travel home. Each year is named after one of 12 zodiac animals. Red envelopes with money are given as gifts. Dragon and lion dances are performed. Fireworks were invented to scare away the monster Nian.
